The small village of Coroico lies at the bottom of 'the most dangerous road' in the Yungas (jungle), we finished our bike ride and were chilling out with a beer in a small restaurant/hotel/animal refuge (complete with pickpocketing monkeys and garlic bread loving parrots), where we got chatting to a French women who owned a hostel nearby, so instead of going back to La Paz we took an equally dangerous ride in her knackered old jeep up a mad road to stay the night. Bagged ourselves a fantastic room with stunning views out across the valley so it was definitely worth it. We'd arranged to meet a Swiss couple from the bike ride in town later that evening so we headed off back down the dirt road in the dark and rain to meet up with them. Ended up in the only restaurant we could find open in town which was actually more like some guys front room who just happened to cook nice Mexican food. Had a few beers and a nice meal whilst talking over our travels and the excitement of the day. Spent the following day exploring town and the valley a little more before heading back to La Paz, fortunately not up the road we'd cycled down the day before – a new road has been recently built to stop traffic using the old slightly more dangerous one!!
