Having woke up nice and early to catch the ferry we realised we hadn’t paid for our kid’s room for the night, problem was no one else was up! Being the good honest people that we are (well Shona anyway, I wanted to do a runner!) we left some money and a note on the pillow thanking them for the room and guessing at an amount because we didn’t know! Boarded the cargo ferry along with about 3 other passengers and 30 lorry drivers and headed to our bunks to dump our bags before checking out the boat. The ferry ride travelled up through the fjords of the Chilean coast and was meant to be spectacular, so we were very gutted when it just rained the whole journey – around 24 hours! Didn't see a thing other than in the last hour or so when it finally cleared up – oh well got to watch about 4 really bad South American films we didn’t understand, have a few beers while aimlessly staring out of a window at the greyness and sleep in bunk-beds on a boat! Was kinda fun really.
