From Buenos Aires we'd decided to take a day trip across to Uruguay with a short ferry ride to the town of Colonia. Stepping off the boat you first notice lots of golf carts around town without any sign of a golf course – strange! It turns out that you can hire them to explore the town, ok sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon! Colonia is an old historical town with a history of piracy and I'm not talking about the DVD type you can get now days! We spent the morning exploring the little cobbled streets and walkways of the old town before heading out for a coastal walk. Returned in the afternoon to check out these golf carts but thankfully spotted just in time some little dune buggy's that were also for hire and they looked much more fun! So it wasn't long before we were whizzing along the back streets of town in a cool little buggy, was so cool, wind in your hair and bugs in your teeth. Got back to town in time for a quick chilled drink before getting back on the ferry for Buenos Aires – Uruguay seemed like a cool place and it wouldn't be long before we'd be heading back.
